Heydar Aliev Foundation receives ISUZU Bogdan school bus sent on behalf of Ukrainian President

On July 1st this year, the Heydar Aliev Foundation, which implements successful projects in the area of education, received a school bus sent on behalf of the Ukrainian President, Victor Yushenko. The bus was presented to the Foundation within the framework of the ‘School bus’ project, which has been running in Ukraine for 5 years now.
In his welcome address to the Ukrainian guests, the Executive Director, speaking on behalf of Mehriban Alieva, the President of the Heydar Aliev Foundation, a UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador and a Milli Medjlis Deputy, said that the Foundation, established in memory of Heydar Aliev, Azerbaijan’s national leader, implements important projects in the areas of culture, education, public health, sport, and other sectors.
B. P. Klimchuk, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan and the co-chairman of the ‘Bridges of Friendship” international project, handed over the keys to the school bus to the Foundation’s Executive Director Anar Alakbarov, and , on behalf of the President of Ukraine, said that the purpose of this gift was to support the educational projects implemented by the Heydar Aliev Foundation. The ambassador was presented with a copy of an album by the Karabakh folk singers, brought out by the Heydar Aliev Foundation.
This was followed by a presentation of the technical aspects of the school bus, held in the Foundation’s courtyard. The audience heard that the bus, jointly manufactured by the Japanese company, ISUZU and the Ukrainian company, Bogdan, has played an important role in ensuring the safe transport of students. The bus meets all European standards, all of its seats are equipped with safety belts and an emergency button. A specific feature of the bus is that children with disabilities can use it, with the help of a special platform.
Speaking of relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, the ambassador specifically stressed the role and services of our leaders in strengthening the friendship between our countries.
The event was also attended by Mr. O.B. Svinarçuk, the President of Bogdan Corporation, and C. Vazirov, the Head Coordinator of AZAUTO Company, as well as by members of Azerbaijan’s mass media.
